Christmas Day 2012 – 25th December 2012

We had an enjoyable Christmas Day spending much of it with the family.

The girls were awake by around 7am and were excited to open their stockings soon afterwards.

After breakfast, they opened more of their presents from us before we decided to walk around to our church for their Christmas Day service.

We returned home by around 11.30 and left around 12pm for lunch at Sarah’s parents’ house where we enjoyed traditional turkey with gammon and vegetables followed by either Christmas pudding or an ice cream ‘Santa’s Grotto’!

During the afternoon we returned home in time to see the Queen’s speech, before tidying up for Mum, Heather, Martin, Hugh and Katy coming to tea.

The girls went to bed around 8.30pm and the others left shortly afterwards.

It had been an enjoyable Christmas Day, the second since losing Grandma and Dad and although their presence was still missed at teatime, the family are coping well with their absence.

Rebekah and Sarah coped admirably with the festivities, despite both being somewhat under-the-weather.
