Berkshire College of Agriculture Lambing Weekend – 27 April 2013
With a bigger car than we had last year, we were able to take Sarah’s parents up to enjoy the lambing weekend at the Berkshire College of Agriculture.
Last year, the weather had been somewhat unpredictable and this year promised more of the same.
We arrived soon after 10am and decided to look around at some of the animals and insects first.
Afterwards, with the weather looking increasingly inclement, I was sent back to the car to retrieve the picnic. We managed to secure a table, fortunately under an umbrella!
After lunch, the rain set in for a while and we took shelter inside the college and had a look around at some of the displays.
We happened to coincide with the arrival of the Mayor and the girls were offered some of his cakes to eat, once he had left!
With the weather improving, we made our way around some of the stalls on the back lawn and headed down to the lambing tent, via the climbing wall, which both Rebekah and Holly were keen to try.
The girls enjoyed seeing some of the newly born lambs in the tent.
We looked around the craft tent before eventually finding the new location for the tractor tour around the grounds.
Despite the occasional showers, we enjoyed our visit and the girls are looking forward to next year already.
