Farewell to Rita Goom – 17th June 2013
Around thirty people gathered on a warm, muggy day at Slough Crematorium to bid a farewell to Sarah’s nan, Rita Goom, who passed away back on 3rd June.
The girls had decorated a rainbow which was placed in the back of the hearse.
A mixture of family, friends and neighbours were there to hear a short service which included the music to Somewhere Over The Rainbow; various memories of Rita; the hymn Dear Lord and Father of Mankind; Bach’s Sheep may Safely Graze and concluded with Time to say goodbye.
Afterwards those at the service travelled back to Sarah’s parents’ house for some light refreshments.
Sarah’s nan hadn’t wanted many flowers at the service, but the main bouquet had been brought back from the funeral.
Sarah’s nan will be much missed by all the family.
